TAP Maintenance and Engineering receives an ATW AdAward

Lisbon, 13 Feb., 2012 - TAP Maintenance and Engineering (TAP M&E) was distinguished today, in Singapore, by Air Transport World (ATW), under the initiative Annual Airline Industry Achievement Awards - AdAwards of this magazine dedicated to aviation, for the ad "Landing Gear" of its advertising campaign.
Now in its 38th edition, this ceremony of awards is considered by the airline management community to be the "Oscars of Aviation", being the longest-running and most-respected airline industry awards event and, in this context, the ATW AdAwards highlight the advertising best work as a result of a panel composed by worldwide readers of ATW.
Developed for the international market, TAP M&E advertising "Landing Gear" has won the "silver" award in the "Airline Contract Maintenance" category. The selection process, conducted by Signet Research, involving a panel of 1,400 subscribers randomly selected, recognized TAP M&E advertising as the second best in its segment among those published in the magazine during the period between October 2010 and September 2011.
TAP M&E management has received this award with satisfaction, as it reflects the recognition of the quality of the advertising campaigns developed, representing a very clear signal that the message is reaching the target audience and being also a true measure of how well they have been able to communicate worldwide the range of services of TAP Maintenance and Engineering.
Developed by Portuguese company Fluor Design, TAP M&E advertising campaign is based on assumptions such as the integration of expertise, geographic coverage and service offerings, graphically and textually worked under the concept of orientation. From the graphical point of view this realization is made by the cardinal points, while the words in the headline "Oriented to ..." reinforces the concept. The campaign is comprised of three ads for the promotion of strategic services of TAP M&E. The award was presented to the ad that promotes the landing gear maintenance services.
This is the fourth time that ATW distinguishes TAP Maintenance and Engineering. The first award, with the designation "Technical Management Award", dates back to 1978. In 1979, TAP M&E received its first Advertising Award, a "gold" award in the Maintenance/Overhaul category, a situation repeated in 1980, in the same category, with a "silver" award.
